POSITION DESCRIPTION & OVERVIEW Title : Housing Location Manager Reports To : Associate Director of Time Limited Housing Schedule : Mon-Fri, Daytime Flexible Compensation : $63,000-73,000/Year Job Classification : Salaried, Exempt, 40 Hours/Week Union Representation : This position is not a union represented position. The Housing Location Manager, in conjunction with the Housing Locators will develop, maintain, and grow relationships with property managers/owners and community partners to achieve the primary goal of Housing First, which is accessing housing quickly and supporting housing stability. The Housing Location Manager will also be responsible for ensuring best practices are upheld, supervising staff, and assisting Agate in maintaining a positive relationship with new and property managers/owners. PRIMARY DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS Provide supervision, leadership, and support to the staff providing direct services to high acuity individuals in need of housing. Provide ongoing supervision and case consultation for staff. Conduct regular team meetings that foster mutual support, professional development, and high-quality service provision on the team. Establish and maintain active working relationships with community partners, property managers/owners, and funders. Establish relationships with new property managers/owners who will partner with our programs. Primary contact for Housing Programs' community partners such as property managers, owners, and caretakers. Understand Housing Support and Rapid ReHousing funding and documentation requirements. Understand and research trends in the Metropolitan rental market. Represent Agate in meetings with other agencies, businesses, government, funders, and community partners. Manage the financial resources of the initiatives within the budget. Field property manager/owner calls and navigate SAGE software for check request submissions and questions. Ensure quality file keeping and case documentation by direct service staff. Ensure that services offered are compliant with Federal, State, and County guidelines, and contract requirements. Respond to changing community needs and incorporate best practices throughout the programs. Ensure that required evaluation systems are in place. Other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION Sedentary work - Sitting most of the time with occasional walking and climbing stairs. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to provide leadership and supervision in programs designed to end homelessness. Social Work licensure is strongly preferred. A minimum of two years direct service to people experiencing homelessness and a minimum of two years social service leadership experience is required. Be able to assist and support staff with apartment showings, including to apartments that may only be accessible through climbing stairs. Have experience with Microsoft Office products. Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Have valid Driver's License and pass a background check. Have access to a safe and reliable vehicle. Demonstrated ability to network via email, telephone, and in person as well as the ability to "Cold call" potential new landlords. Ability to become qualified to complete Housing Quality Standards Inspections within the first 90 days of employment. Ability to meet expectations regarding paperwork and documentation through organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently and accurately, competency and comfort using technology and computers. Experience that gives applicants the required skills, abilities, and perspectives listed above are commonly gained through one or more of the following: Personal experience with homelessness; Experience working, interning, or volunteering with people experiencing homelessness; An Associates, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Social Work (with accompanying licensure), Human Services, or Family Studies. We encourage applicants with lived experience to apply. However, if you have received services from Agate Housing and Services within the last two years this will make you ineligible for employment. This position requires use of your own personal vehicle for Agency business and will be required to maintain liability insurance coverage of at least $100,000 per person and $300,000 per occurrence. In addition to criminal background studies, applicants must have a valid Driver's License and pass a driving record background check. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Three or more years' experience supervising staff working with people experiencing homelessness. Licensed social worker (LSW, LGSW, or LISW). Knowledge of and experience working within the homelessness response system in Hennepin County. Fluency in languages used by our clients (Spanish, Amharic, Oromo, Somali, ASL). To be eligible for rewards, candidates must be hired as permanent full or part-time employees (this excludes on-call, employees, temporary employees, interns or contract workers).
