As front-line employees, the Host/Hostess/Cashier is the director of first impressions. Entering and leaving Burche are two of the most critical moments in the guest's experience because lasting impressions are formed during these moments. They are responsible for maintaining superior quality service for guests. Performing their jobs on a daily basis, they are required to be detailed in every aspect of their work while maintaining an efficient pace and assisting in keeping waste and spillage to a minimum. The Host/Hostess/Cashier will adhere to all rules and guidelines as set to all department employees. Job purpose Food Servers take food & drink orders and deliver them to our guests, while maintaining and enhancing the quality of our customer service. You will work in close collaboration with colleagues and follow established health and safety standards. The goal is to provide customers with a memorable experience by getting to know our regular customers by name, in adherence to our Burche Mission Statement. Duties and responsibilities Welcome guests to the restaurant. Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists. Answer incoming calls and address customers' queries, facilitate to-go orders. Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas, provide menus and announce Food Server's name. Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options. Maintain a clean reception area. Cater to guests who require extra attention. (e.g. children, elderly) Greet customers upon their departure. Assist Food Servers as needed. Strong team working and communication skills. Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays. Ability to work in stressful, fast-paced environment. Qualifications Outstanding customer-service skills. Previous work experience as a Host/Hostess or Food Server is a plus. Ability to operate a register and handle cash transactions. Understanding of restaurant and phone etiquette. Strong ability to multitask. Excellent communication skills. (via phone and in-person) Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area. Physical requirements Host / Cashier is a physically demanding job. Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
