Position Available: Heavy Equipment Shop and Truck Mechanic R-2 Contractors is currently seeking a motivated Heavy Equipment Shop and Truck Mechanic to join our expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our continued success with a company that values integrity and professionalism. What you will do: · Perform a variety of skilled duties which may involve inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty trucks and equipment· Complete tasks given by Shop Manager in a timely fashion and ask for help as needed· Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks (up to 1 1/2”)· Responsible for cleaning and organizing the shop· Must be able to operate heavy equipment· Clean and organize work/shop/yard area as needed to maintain a safe working environment· Complete all required documentation: timesheets, checklists, repair orders, etc…· Assist with getting company vehicles to and from locations as needed· Complete DOT inspections· Use proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) – grinding, cutting, sanding, welding, using compressed air etc.· Loading and unloading trucks with use of forklift Qualifications of the Heavy Equipment Shop and Truck Mechanic: · Physical requirements: Lifting up to 100 pounds as needed, climbing, twisting, bending, standing for long periods of time· Minimum 3 years heavy equipment/heavy truck experience· Experience in safely using hand and power tools, equipment and diagnostic devices· Forklift Certification or willingness to obtain certification· Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record - preferred, or the ability to work with the company to obtain one.· DOT medical card required and ability to maintain· Mechanical Experience Required Job Type: Full-Time Expected hours: 50+ Hours Per WeekWeekends as needed Benefits: · Medical/Dental/Vision· Paid Time Off· Paid Sick LeaveJob Type: Full-timePay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 – 50 per weekPowered by JazzHR
