Term of Appt: June 18 - August 20, 2024 (30 hrs/wk) Start date: June 18, 2024 Location: Dawson Creek (Rotary Manor) Reporting to: Dean of Academic & Vocational Programs Salary: $45.60 - $56.75/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% on all regular earnings in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay. Description: NLC's Health Care Assistant Program requires a temporary full-time instructor to deliver the following course: HCAT 127: Practice Experience in Multi-Level and/or Complex Care Date: June 18th - August 20th (30 hours per week) Qualifications: Required: Completion of an accredited Diploma in Practical Nursing, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Current practicing license as an LPN, RPN, RN or NP with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. Minimum of two years (full-time equivalent) of recent Canadian Nursing experience with relevant knowledge of the Canadian healthcare system and of the roles and responsibilities of healthcare team members (experience should also include home support and multi-level complex care for older adults). Proof of full COVID-19 vaccinations (as mandated by PHO), Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners: e. g. completion of (or satisfactory progress in) the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program; or previous teaching experience with satisfactory evaluations; or, where PIDP or teaching evaluations are absent, teaching ability must be demonstrated during the interview process. Excellent communications skills, both written and oral. Committed to student motivation and achievement; and Ability to contribute as a team member. Preferred: Completed course work in Indigenous cultural safety and humility; and Teaching experience as a nurse or health care professional.
