As Governance and Compliance Officer, you will support all council services with the development, implementation and compliance of governance related policies and procedures. You will ensure a coordinated approach to policy development and monitor the compliance across the Council. You will also have specific responsibilities in relation to allocated governance policy areas and embedding and disseminating the governance policies throughout all service areas to ensure that the Council’s objectives are met and to minimise risk of governance failures. Educated to A level / NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject, you will have relevant experience ideally in the public sector including researching legislation, best practice and of updating or writing policies. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience of working with and providing advice to colleagues at all levels of an organisation. You will have good research and analysis skills with a commitment to providing high quality work together with good organisation and time management skills to effectively prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and changing demands.
