As a GIS Data Specialist at the United States Geological Survey (USGS), you will spearhead advanced GIS projects, guiding a team in converting high-resolution digital elevation model (DEM) and hydrographic data into crucial 3D models to enhance The National Map. The GIS Data Specialist will work with USGS to stand up a team and establish the production environment from scratch, while also bridging the gap between applied research and entry-level analysts. As the team and process become routine, the GIS Data Specialist will schedule tasks, check quality, report on production, and troubleshoot any issues.
