Summary: The General Support Specialist (Floater) is a highly flexible and adaptable staff member, offering a unique opportunity for growth and learning. The General Support Specialist (Floater) provides short-term support to all departments and programs as needed and required by the Chief Programs Officer. This employee will fill in for other employees during vacancies, leaves, or high caseload periods to ensure uninterrupted service delivery. The Center considers this position to be an elevated position as the person will need more internal training regarding the people /program they support. The support need can be in any area, such as the data entry process (various systems), implementing and evaluating of individual and family sessions, curriculum-based parent and youth skills groups, outreach activities, helping young adults access emergency needs, housing, planning/case coordination, marketing, performance quality improvement activities, hosting events, marketing needs, and any administrative duties as needed. The scope of work is subject to change as needed to ensure each project’s success and to meet funders’ requirements. Likewise, complementary changes may be made to projects or individual goals and employee expectations based on agency/management strategic goals. All Center for Children team members are expected to be collegial and collaborative, mutually supportive, and focused on excellent services to clients, fidelity to program models, and ethical provision of services. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Fills in for other employees during vacancies, leaves, or high caseload periods to ensure uninterrupted service delivery. The support need can be in any area, such as the data entry process (various systems), implementing and evaluating of individual and family sessions, curriculum-based parent and youth skills groups, outreach activities, helping young adults access emergency needs, housing, planning/case coordination, marketing, performance quality improvement activities, hosting events, marketing needs, and any administrative duties as needed. Develops detailed knowledge of program requirements to perform necessary duties to their highest fidelity. (Learn the funder's applications, written narratives, contracts, and regulations.) Maintains confidentiality of all records, agency business, and/or documentation you may come in contact with. Maintains accurate and up-to-date client records, progress notes, and documentation according to organizational standards and contract requirements. Acts as a data entry backup to programs. Assist in data entry activities and reporting as needed by program leads. Assists with Performance Measure tracking, data analysis, and reporting. Maintains extremely high standards and a level of attention to detail. Adapts quickly to changing priorities, caseloads, and work environments, demonstrating resilience and problem-solving skills. Contributes to creating a welcoming and healthy environment for our clients and other staff members. Completes all training requirements for each assigned program. Handles special administrative projects and overflow work from department and Center programs Participates in the agency's performance and quality improvement processes (tracking, data analysis, reporting) Assists the administrative team during audits or special projects. Perform other duties as assigned. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Qualifications Minimum qualifications for this position include: Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field. Two years of experience providing case management services to youth and families. Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish and English is preferred. Exceptional computer skills, including proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite of business applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Good time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively with individuals from all walks of life. Must have driver’s license, vehicle in safe operating condition, and maintain proof of current insurance at Texas minimum standards. Must be able and willing to travel for trainings/meetings/conferences. Must be able to walk, sit, stand, and lift and carry at least 25 pounds. The scope of work is subject to change based on the team’s performance and the funder’s expectations and on agency/management strategic goals. The flexibility needed in this role includes scheduling of meetings/events/activities, scheduling supervision sessions with staff, training, staff meetings, and out-of-town travel for training and/or grant requirements.
