Full-Time Maintenance Technician

Central City Management is seeking professional, talented, and reliable maintenance technician to join our maintenance team as a Full-Time Maintenance Technician. We are looking for individuals to preserve the condition and functionality of our residential apartment buildings and premises.Our ideal candidate that would make an outstanding Maintenance Technician will be professional, reliable, and flexible individuals who are a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC skills. To excel in this position, you must be an outstanding problem-solver with excellent communication and organizational skills. Our Maintenance Technician will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around our apartments and buildings. Below is a list of some tasks our Maintenance Technicians may be required to handle. Job Responsibilities and Duties: Perform at general & routine maintenance around the buildings and residential apartments. Repair, install and troubleshoot plumbing including working on and changing out Sloan toilet parts, hot water tanks, changing out water valves, supply lines, and faucets. Must have working knowledge on sweating pipes. Ability and knowledge to address electrical issues including changing switches & outlets, troubleshooting trip breakers, ability to identify wiring, install ceiling fixtures (track lighting, recessed lights, ceiling fans, sconces, etc.). Must have beginner knowledge on how to bend pipes, move boxes, and run new wiring for a new location. Must have carpentry skills including ability to install medicine cabinets & vanities, install locks, blinds, doors. It is preferred, but not required, to have the ability to install kitchen cabinets, ability to install tile on the floor or walls, knowledge on dealing with window repair parts such as pivot shoes and balance rods. Must have general appliance repair capability. HVAC knowledge to troubleshoot furnace malfunctions, knowledge of A/C cooling systems. Basic knowledge of boilers and chillers. Ability to maintain, install and repair air conditioning, ventilation, and heating systems. Knowledge and ability to work complete unit turnovers. Complete preventative maintenance tasks as assigned. Perform any and all other duties, as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management team. Requirements and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent qualification. HVAC license/certification is preferred, but not required. A minimum of 2+ years’ experience as a maintenance technician or similar role is preferred. Previous multi-family house experience is desired; however, we will train the otherwise qualified candidate. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and professional demeanor. Must be detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Must be reliable and demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality. Must have a valid driver’s license & reliable transportation. Must be willing to be on-call on a rotating basis every 4 weeks. This is a full-time position working from 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday.
