Great news! Schillings is currently looking for a Forklift Technician at our Mokena, IL location. The purpose of this position is to diagnose, adjust, repair, hydraulic and electrical equipment such as forklifts, order pickers, golf carts, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts. We offer competitive pay along with a full package of benefits and opportunities for advancement. A typical shift is 6am-4pm, Monday-Friday. Responsibilities: Work on private fleet in clean, safe shop facilities Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades, and completing winterization procedures Electrical troubleshooting, brake and air conditioning system repair, as needed Diagnose and repair equipment that is not running properly Repair and replace damaged or worn parts Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards Other duties, as assigned Education/Required Skills: High school degree or equivalent Complete tool set is required for this position Minimum 3-5 years' experience Class B CDL or willing to obtain one Basic knowledge of diesel trucks, air brake engines, and other technical understanding Tooling, supply management, mechanical inspection tools Ability to problem solve, strong attention to detail Communicate effectively within the department, while maintaining a positive attitude Keep track of all the vehicles being serviced Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly Be punctual and reliable, while working in all weather conditions Potential travel to other locations with company vehicle provided Benefits: Competitive pay Boot reimbursement Medical, Dental, Vision Life insurance & short-term disability 401k with profit sharing PTO & Paid Holidays Sponsored lunch events Company discounts MISSION - Give our customers what they want, on time and error-free Schillings provides equal employment opportunity to all individuals regardless of their race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, military status, unfavorable discharge from military status, sex, marital status, disability, order of protection status, age, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or any other characteristics protected by federal, state, or local laws.
