Don't miss this great opportunity to be a part of a team. *Forklift Mechanic Certification needed Job Title: Forklift Mechanic Job Type: Full-time/Direct Hire Shift: Days Pay: $30-35/hr Work Perks: Competitive benefits, PTO, and so much more!SUMMARY: The Forklift Mechanic will perform maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks used throughout the facility.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Perform routine, emergency and preventative maintenance of forklifts. * Troubleshoot forklift problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions. * Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and communicate the need to order replacement parts. * Repairs and maintains various types of forklift trucks including electric, gas-powered, and propane-powered. * Interpret manufacturer's technical manuals to perform the necessary maintenance and repairs needed. * Perform safety inspection of forklifts prior to being released back to the work floor. * Remove unsafe equipment from facility operating area and notify supervisor. * Ensures batteries for electric forklift trucks are fully charged. * Replaces empty propane tanks on propane-powered forklift trucks. * Maintains repair log for forklift truck fleet. * Maintains a safe, clean working environment.QUALIFICATIONS: * One to two years related experience or equivalent. * Completion of forklift truck mechanic's training course required. * Solid foundation of mechanical aptitude and ability along with knowledge of industrial electricity up to 440 volts would be preferred. * Forklift operator certified. * Ability to use hand and power tools to repair forklift trucks. * Ability to read repair manuals for various types of forklift trucks. * Able to diagnose and repair mast and attachment components. * Good working knowledge of brake systems and tire/wheel changes. * Excellent mechanical repair skills. * Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. * Bilingual a preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: * Must be physically capable of accessing all parts of the forklift needing repairs or maintenance, either by kneeling or lying on back. * Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time. * Prolonged periods of moving around the production floor. * Work is performed in warehouse setting that includes cold temperatures, high noise levels, bright lights, and stairs.REM3
