Copper Island Academy is seeking a part-time Food Service Assistant to join our outstanding educational team. Schedule: 10:30 am - 1:30 pm. Job Description : Copper Island Academy seeks a passionate and reliable Food Service Assistant who values the spirit of "sisu" central to our educational approach. The Food Service Assistant will support daily food service operations, ensuring students and staff receive nutritious and appealing meals. This role focuses on assisting in kitchen preparation, serving, and meal cleanup, while adhering to health and safety standards. Key Responsibilities : Meal Preparation & Service : Assist in the kitchen preparation for and serving of vended meals according to the daily menu. Safety & Compliance : Maintain health and safety standards in the kitchen, including proper food storage, cleanliness, and sanitation practices. Inventory Support : Assist with inventory tasks, such as unpacking deliveries and storing food and supplies, while ensuring items are properly labeled and organized. Collaboration & Teamwork : Work closely with the Food Service Coordinator to support efficient food service operations and a positive meal experience for students and staff. Local Food Integration : Support efforts to incorporate locally sourced ingredients by assisting in preparation tasks related to our Farm to Table initiative.
