Department: Accounting/Finance Reports To: Controller -Lansing, Hillburn and Manchester Operations FLSA Status: Exempt Revised: 5/2016 SUMMARY The Finance Business Partner position of this precision engineering, private equity owned medical device and aerospace and defense manufacturer is a key member of the Tecomet Lansing team. This is a broad brush role encompassing accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, control compliance and crucially providing value added analysis and counsel as a true business partner. The successful applicant will be responsible for variance analysis, costing, assisting proactive cash flow management, and fundamentally driving EBITDA improvement from effective business partnering. In addition involvement in policy determination, procedure, and process development are anticipated. Work in close collaboration with Controller, General Manager and all senior site leadership team on all aspects of commercial management and enhancement with drive and ambition to develop as a key business partner and to learn and continue the implementation of lean finance concepts through continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Assignments include the following: Weekly Flash - coordinate predictive build of how the current month is shaping up - sales, cash flow, inventory, controllable costs, customer service/delivery performance metrics Assist Monthly Closings - coordinate journal entries, inventory-related reconciliations, Hyperion submission of actuals and forecast Financial Reporting - prepare variance analysis and support the operating review package development. Prepare robust short to medium term financial forecasts Sales, GM%, Adjusted EBITDA, and continuously review efficacy of forecasting modeling and make iterative changes to better predict outcomes Oversee product costing process and re-evaluate rates to ensure appropriate info for price decision making Working Capital -support group processes for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and proactively manage inventory turns Internal Reporting - support operating departments with data and analysis to improve results with a focus on predictive, causal and outcome metrics Margin Analysis - maintenance of standard costs, price increases, and inventory valuation Strategic Planning - lead annual budget compilation process in support of local policy deployment, consistent with group strategy Provide robust financial evaluation in support of business capital expenditure proposals Continuous Improvement - drive improvement in the business's financial processes from a quality and productivity perspective. Ensure business IT systems and business processes more generally are assessed constantly so these evolve to support effective business control, profit and cash enhancement, and decision making Key liaison with Group finance personnel, and Group leadership Key liaison with the external audit team, and drives local efforts in meeting audit team requests PERSONAL TRAITS AND CHARACTERISTICS: Quality 1st: Plan & execute accurate, complete, timely and reliable work. EDUCATION/WORK HISTORY/COMPETENCIES: Education: Degree educated, ideally with post graduate finance qualification CPA/ CMA preferred Demonstrated accounting experience in monthly closing, controls, and compliance Experience with Hyperion or similar reporting and budgeting software.
