The role of the field engineer is to primarily be responsible for delivering the installation of IP devices, network cabling and providing solutions to service visits. The role will work alone and will work with other engineers, sometimes leading a team on an installation project. Primary Responsibilities Working on a varied scale of projects, designing, installing, testing, commissioning IP technology. Respond to service calls and carry out troubleshooting to fix the issue. Report findings and work with Service and Project Managers throughout the project Working remotely, or as part of a dynamic install / service team. Update documentation, procedures and write reports, or update systems to ensure clients happy and company is informed of fixes Being accountable for all aspects of your van stock, safety equipment and required training Positively representing the Organisation when working on site supporting with all product queries Installation and test of copper and fibre data cabling and network infrastructure Complete software upgrades and calibration on IP devices Skills and Experience At least 2 years’ experience in IP technology installation, commissioning fault finding and maintenance required Preferred experience working on Network Rail or underground sites (not essential). Be qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Engineering practices. Access control, security products and other electrical backgrounds are all of interest Good knowledge and experience of installing systems to the current British standards Clean UK Driving License ECS Card IPAF 3a/3b Competent in MS Office applications Personal Competencies A positive attitude Good interpersonal skills Effective Communicator, on phone, in writing and in person Customer service focused Professional and presentable at all times Problem-solving approach Employee Benefits Company Mobile Access to a company pool vehicle and fuel card Company uniform and PPE provided 25 days holiday.
