PRIMARY JOB QUALIFICATIONS Current Illinois RN License Bachelor's degree in nursing ; Master's Preferred Combination of education and relative experience that provides knowledge, skills and ability to successfully fulfill job responsibilities may substitute. Certification in clinical area of nursing administration preferred. 3-5 years of clinical experience. Supervisory or leadership role demonstrated in past experience. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES Registered professional nurse who is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the growth and development of the unit's patient care services consistent with organizational goals and identified unit needs. The Birth Center Nurse Director will develop and mentor staff, ensuring clinical competencies and quality improvements. Administrative duties such as budgeting, staffing, and operations. Maintain relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to develop and implement policies and procedures by advocating for the rights and safety of patients and staff. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Birth Center Nurse Director will provide multidisciplinary leadership and administrative authority for multiple patient care units and departments on a 24-hour basis. The Director will be supported by a tenured and experienced team of Labor and Delivery Nurses ensuring seamless operation and excellence in patient care. Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10lbs with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.
