The Company: We are working with a long established, family run, regional Civil Engineering contractor that operate on up to 20 sites throughout the North West. They have a great reputation for delivering varied and interesting projects including Highway Construction and Civil Engineering schemes for their clients. They have a large in: house skilled workforce and good, long term subcontractors. They have long term Framework agreements in place with a number of Local Authorities and public bodies and have also developed good relationships with private sector clients that means they enjoy a good proportion of repeat business. Low staff turnover, with a good blend of long: serving and new members of staff. Strong growth over the past 20 years. Great track record in Social and Environmental responsibility : Consistently outperforming competitors on Quality and Social Value Matrices. Strong financial position, with positive cash reserves. Clear Management controls and structure. The Role: This is a new role and is available due to growth. They want someone to prepare competitive tender bids for contracts with Local Authorities, Public Utilities and private clients, generally in the highways and general civil engineering sectors. The role involves working closely with the Construction Director and Managing Director who will provide support. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the whole process from tender submission and negotiation to securing Project/Contracts. Carry out material take offs and send out enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers and compare and interrogate sub contract quotations. Price up all rates from basic principles broken down on a labour, plant, materials and subcontract basis. Price up all preliminary items for each tender in advance of finalisation with the Directors Compile tender deliverables if required. Attend pre: award / pre: contract meetings.
