To strengthen our Neurology Patient Value Unit (nPVU), we are looking to fill the position of Epilepsy Outcomes Partner for parts of the Eastern US . In this role, you will contribute to optimization of patient care and area or /sub-national access for UCB therapies by planning and delivering real-world evidence (RWE) that addresses key area gaps and is responsive to both micro and macro area ecosystem trends. Key Activities: Partner with population health partners (US) and with medical and access roles to gather insights to understand regional area or/subnational needs for RWE with regional area or /subnational stakeholders Apply ability to gather, interpret, plan and generate RWE and HEOR (data base analyses, studies, registries, audits) per regional RWE plan that broadly resonates with external stakeholders and supports implementation of UCB’s near- and longterm strategy Engage in meaningful discussions and communicates real-world evidence to key stakeholders, i.e., policy makers, payers, pharmacists and KOLs Conduct and teach RWE for internal stakeholders Connect with global RWE practice and access Key Deliverables: Development and implementation of strategically aligned area RWE/HEOR plan based on identified data gaps Internal communication and training on RWE/HEOR as local subject matter expert Management & follow up with key investigators regarding RWE data gaps and generation Preferred partner and expert for health outcomes info (esp. as part of PE3 multidisciplinary team) Elevates patient care by conducting analyses to identify care gap Communication of RWE required to decide on the right drug for the right patient at the right time at regional or hospital level Challenges, partners and negotiates internally to ensure evidence supporting access is given priority in cross-functional evidence generation plans. Ensure UCB Operational Compliance to the highest professional standards. Important Interfaces: Partner with population health partners (US) and with area medical and access roles for identified opportunities to improve patient care Coordinate with access roles to engage payer organizations regarding RWE evidence Coordinate with medical roles regarding HCPs questions on RWE Connect and align with global practices and EU RWE/ HEOR and EU Access leads Position responsibilities: Doctorate (MD, PhD, PharmD) degree required. Additional advanced degree in epidemiology (MPH), economics (MS, MBA) and/or health services is highly desired. 5+ years of direct Medical Affairs background in the biopharmaceutical industry and prior background in field-based role strongly desired Highly professional demeanor with excellent relationship-building and communication expertise, including the ability to articulate complex scientific and economic findings with simplicity and clarity and ability to negotiate with internal and external constituencies to achieve desired results and outcomes is necessary background with health plan drug utilization decision-making (e.g. Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Guideline Panels) is highly desired Proven skill to work autonomously in an Industry compliant manner.
