This role offers a unique opportunity for an admitted attorney to gain hands-on experience, manage a diverse caseload, and collaborate closely with a dedicated criminal defense team. Ideal candidates will bring a commitment to advocating for clients' rights and an eagerness to grow within a dynamic legal environment.Duties:Advise clients on their legal rights and draft essential case documentsAttend pretrial hearings on clients' behalf, advising them on strategies after each sessionRepresent clients in court appearances, trials, and depositionsPrepare and draft motions, conduct witness interviews, and perform comprehensive legal researchAnalyze potential case outcomes, drawing from knowledge of legal precedentsManage and prioritize a diverse caseloadAccumulate supporting evidence to fortify clients’ cases and counter prosecution chargesPrepare clients for depositions, identify critical goals for case strategy, and gather testimonies from witnesses and relevant expertsRequirements:Proven interest in criminal defense law demonstrated through law school clinics, volunteer work, or internshipsAdmitted to the bar with a Juris DoctorateStrong teamwork skills and a collaborative approachBilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not requiredExcellent interpersonal and communication abilitiesExperience with case management software is advantageousEducation:Juris DoctorateCertifications:Admission to the BarSkills:Excellent analytical skills for case outcome analysisStrong organizational abilities to manage caseloads effectivelyAbility to conduct thorough legal research and witness interviewsHigh interpersonal and client-relations skillsProficiency in case management software (preferred)Job Location:Sacramento, CABenefits:Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurancePaid parking for ease of commuteGenerous paid time off and additional benefitsOpportunities for professional development and growth within the firmA supportive, inclusive work environment
