Full-Time Engineering Technician - Second Shift Shift: 4 p.m.- 12 a.m.Columbia Club, a private city club established in 1889, on Monument Circle, offers an opportunity for those seeking to join our dedicated team. With 20,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting and event facilities, en-suite guest rooms, and multiple dining rooms, Columbia Club provides a unique and distinguished experience. Complemented by member services and a Health & Wellness Center, the Club embodies excellence in every aspect of city club life. Job Responsibilities: Maintains and makes general repairs to the plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliances, elevators, ventilation systems, and building structures of the club. Conducts repairs to plumbing, such as leaking pipes and faucets and clogged drains. Performs various duties involving painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work. Maintains the air conditioning, refrigerators, ice makers, and pool pumps. Performs routine preventive maintenance (PM) required by the club’s PM procedures. Installs tile, and drywall; makes grouting repairs, patches walls, and paves brick. Repairs small motors. Attends departmental staff meetings. Completes other appropriate assignments made by the maintenance and repair manager. Qualifications: Preferred to have at least 3 years of practical maintenance and basic knowledge of mechanical problem. High School diploma or general equivalence diploma (G.E.D.) Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to print and speak simple phrases and sentences. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Skilled in the use of hand and power tools Basic knowledge in building systems Experience in minor carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, tile, small machines and appliances Competencies: Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
