The position offers an exciting opportunity to engage with complex legal challenges in the energy sector, including regulatory compliance and transactional work, within a collaborative and supportive environment.Duties:Provide comprehensive legal counsel on energy regulatory and transactional matters.Collaborate with a team on nuclear, regulatory, and energy-related cases and transactions.Conduct detailed legal research and prepare client-oriented reports and analyses.Support clients in navigating federal and state agency requirements, as well as RTO/ISO processes.Draft, review, and negotiate complex energy-related legal documents and contracts.Maintain updated knowledge of regulatory changes impacting the energy sector and provide strategic advice to clients.Requirements:1-7 years of experience in energy law, preferably within a law firm, state agency, RTO/ISO, utility, or federal agency.Proven ability to deliver quality legal services in energy regulatory and transactional areas.Strong analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic legal team.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the bar in Washington, DC, or eligibility to become a member of the DC Bar.Skills:Exceptional problem-solving abilities.Excellent research and drafting skills.Strong interpersonal and teamwork capabilities.Capacity to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under deadlines.Job Location:Washington, DC This national firm uses its DC office for governmental affairs, working closely with the corporate, tax, employment and litigation departments of its other offices to provide clients with a wide scope of services.
