This role offers the opportunity for direct client engagement, providing sophisticated legal work in employment law and higher education compliance. The position can be full-time or part-time, ideal for a lawyer with a strong background in employment law who is comfortable handling both advisory and litigation duties.LocationMinneapolis, MinnesotaDutiesAdvise business clients on various employment law matters, including compliance and policy developmentConduct legal research, draft briefs, prepare pleadings, and develop workplace policiesInvestigate workplace violations, including incidents of alleged sexual harassment and other misconductRespond to and investigate complaints related to employment and higher education regulationsPrepare charge responses and provide guidance on complaint handling proceduresCollaborate with clients and colleagues to deliver comprehensive legal supportEngage in specialized training and stay updated on topics such as Title IX, FERPA, Campus SAVE Act, VAWA, and related regulationsRequirementsMinimum of 4 years of experience in employment law, including both advisory and litigation functionsProficiency in investigating and addressing workplace complaints, including policy drafting and charge responsesStrong client service, analytical, and problem-solving skillsEducationJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolCertificationsActive law license in MinnesotaSkillsExpertise in employment law, particularly within the higher education sectorExceptional research, writing, and analytical abilitiesStrong interpersonal skills and capacity for client relationsFamiliarity with higher education compliance areas, including Title IX, FERPA, and related lawsBenefitsCompetitive compensation and benefits packageHybrid work setting with “Dress for Your Day” flexibilityMonetary support for business development initiativesAccess to professional development programming, mentoring, and inclusion networks This is a full-service, established law firm with regional, national and international clients.
