This role involves advising business clients on a wide range of employment-related matters, as well as supporting higher education institutions with compliance and policy needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in employment law, both in advisory and litigation contexts, and specific expertise in handling complex investigations and policy issues related to higher education.LocationMinneapolis, MinnesotaDutiesProvide legal advice to business clients on employment-related mattersAssist with research, drafting briefs, preparing pleadings, and developing employment policiesInvestigate complaints and prepare responses to chargesCounsel clients on regulatory compliance, including Title IX, FERPA, and VAWA-related mattersConduct training on topics such as sexual harassment, misconduct investigations, and workplace policiesWork collaboratively with other attorneys and support staff to ensure comprehensive client serviceRequirements4 to 6 years of experience in employment law, including both advisory and litigation rolesStrong background in legal research, brief writing, and preparation of pleadingsExperience with investigating complaints and drafting policy responsesClient-focused approach with excellent service, interpersonal, and problem-solving skillsEducationJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolCertificationsActive license to practice law in MinnesotaSkillsProficiency in employment law and regulatory compliance in higher educationExceptional analytical and writing skillsStrong client relations and communication abilitiesAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environmentKnowledge in responding to Title IX and related regulatory matters is a plusBenefitsCompetitive compensation and comprehensive benefits packageHybrid work setting and “Dress for Your Day” environmentMonetary support for business development effortsAccess to professional development programming, mentorship, and inclusion networks This is a full-service, established law firm with regional, national and international clients.
