JOB DESCRIPTION The Employee Benefits Specialist that will lead the renewal and marketing process. Analyze carrier products and client data to recommend suitable benefit plans and proposals. Identify, design, and implement internal data process improvements. Cultivate strong relationships with insurance carrier representatives. Accounts may be fully insured, partially self-funded, or self-insured. RESPONSIBILITIES Drive the renewal/marketing process through gathering vendor/client information, auditing data, developing RFP, negotiating rates and benefits, preparing and analyzing benchmark data, communicating trends to account management, and client proposals. Design, distribute, and evaluate responses to surveys and RFPs. Gather, save, & prepare marketing results. Conduct benchmarking studies and other research; provide value-added analyses and summaries. Prepare spreadsheets that communicate plan analysis, designs, rates, total cost, funding strategies, and claims experience in a professional format. Together with Account Management, review quotes and obtain any additional information needed, review coverages and discuss the appropriate option(s) and generate accurate proposals. Analyze and compare vendor products, services, and contracts. Cultivate strong relationships with insurance carrier representatives. Support team members with various tasks as needed. Continually improve knowledge and skill proficiencies through webinars and continuing education. SKILLS REQUIRED Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Assist the Account Manager to market and renew client book of business. Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint. Strong analytical, creative, and integrative skills. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED College Degree Required. 3 years of insurance brokerage/HR experience.
