The role involves advising clients on a broad range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of tax-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare benefit programs, and non-qualified deferred compensation plans. The candidate will also handle ERISA fiduciary matters and assist with the benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions (MA) transactions. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of experience in this field and demonstrate strong analytical and drafting skills.Location:Columbus, OHDuties:Provide legal counsel on employee benefits and executive compensation issuesDesign, implement, and maintain tax-qualified retirement plans and health welfare benefit programsDraft non-qualified deferred compensation plans, incentive plans, and severance pay plansAdvise clients on ERISA fiduciary matters and complianceAssist with the benefits aspects of MA transactionsWork with a diverse client base, including public corporations, privately held companies, financial institutions, and tax-exempt organizationsDraft and analyze health welfare and qualified plan documentsRequirements:3 to 6 years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation lawDemonstrated ability to analyze and draft health welfare and qualified plan documentsExperience handling ERISA fiduciary matters and MA-related benefits issuesStrong work ethic with a focus on building client relationshipsExcellent legal research, writing, and analytical skillsEducation:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdictionSkills:Expertise in employee benefits and executive compensation regulationsStrong drafting, writing, and communication skillsProficient in managing complex benefits and compensation mattersAbility to work independently and collaborativelyStrong interpersonal and client management skillsBenefits:Competitive compensation packageOpportunities for professional development and career growth This prestigious general practice firm manages its practice groups efficiently and matter-of-factly.
