Remote candidates may also be considered on a case-by-case basis. The successful candidate will provide legal advice to businesses on a broad range of health and welfare plan matters, including regulatory compliance and plan administration. The role will involve drafting and negotiating service provider agreements, advising on key regulations such as the Affordable Care Act, COBRA, HIPAA, and handling compliance issues related to TiC and CAA 21.Location:Columbus, OHDuties:Advise businesses on all aspects of health and welfare plans, including wrap plans, cafeteria plans, and flexible benefits arrangementsProvide guidance on compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), COBRA, HIPAA, Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, and other relevant lawsDraft and negotiate service provider agreements for health and welfare benefit plansAssist clients with compliance issues related to TiC (Transparency in Coverage) and CAA 21 (Consolidated Appropriations Act 2021)Resolve legal and administrative issues related to health and welfare plan administrationOffer proactive legal advice on compliance and litigation matters related to health and welfare benefit plansRequirements:Extensive experience providing legal counsel on health and welfare employee benefit plansKnowledge of ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other key regulatory frameworksProven ability to draft and negotiate service provider agreementsExperience providing proactive legal advice on compliance and litigation issues related to employee benefitsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to manage complex client needsEducation:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdictionSkills:Expertise in employee benefits regulations and complianceStrong drafting, negotiation, and communication skillsExcellent problem-solving and analytical abilitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively with legal teamsStrong client management and relationship-building skillsBenefits:Competitive compensation and benefits packageFlexibility with office location and remote work optionsOpportunities for career growth and professional development This prestigious general practice firm manages its practice groups efficiently and matter-of-factly.
