This position offers flexibility with the option to work from offices in Cleveland. The successful candidate will counsel clients on a wide range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of various compensation plans, as well as handling ERISA fiduciary matters and the benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions (MA). The candidate must have a strong background in employee benefits and a demonstrated ability to handle complex health and welfare, and qualified plan issues.Location:Cleveland, OHDuties:Counsel clients on employee benefits and executive compensation mattersDesign, implement, and maintain tax-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare benefit programs, and non-qualified deferred compensation plansAdvise on incentive and severance pay plansHandle ERISA fiduciary mattersManage benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions (MA) transactionsDraft and review plan documents and agreements related to employee benefits and compensationWork with publicly traded corporations, privately owned companies, financial institutions, and tax-exempt organizationsRequirements:3 to 6 years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation lawExpertise in analyzing and drafting health and welfare benefit plans, and qualified retirement plan documentsAbility to manage complex benefits and compensation issuesStrong work ethic and attention to detailAbility to develop and foster client relationshipsEducation:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdictionSkills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent drafting and writing skillsStrong interpersonal and client communication skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyBenefits:Competitive compensation packageOpportunities for professional growth and development The legal practice was founded in 1911.
