Our Northamptonshire based client and leading manufacture of special purpose equipment have an opportunity for a CAD Engineer for the generation of electrical hardware and systems. Role Overview: Reporting To the Electrical Systems Manager you will support in the design and development of electrical systems including controls, variable speed motors, cable selection etc. Most machine orders are bespoke, but often 60 of the electrical System is repeatable from stock designs, with 40 being specified for the exact machine applications. You will collaborate on engineering projects with customers and internal teams. Test, diagnose, and rectify faults through design changes. Ensure compliance with legislative requirements. Create high-quality specifications and documentation. Assist with system commissioning in the UK and internationally 80 of the role is UK, office based. Requirements: NVQ 5 minimum/degree in relevant engineering discipline.2+ years of Electrical CAD experience around hardware. Solidworks Electrical preferred but Auto CAD Electrical or EPLAN can be considered. Exposure or an understanding of control system design and development. Some knowledge of machine systems design, safety systems, and industrial standards. Some knowledge of industrial communication protocols, wiring, sensors, and cable selection. Familiarity with P&ID diagrams, power sources, and electrical compliance. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. Willingness to travel internationally. Benefits: £45 - £50k based on experience.
