This role is crucial for ensuring the protection of intellectual property and promoting innovation within the technology sector.DutiesAnalyze technical disclosures and engage in client interviews to gain a deep understanding of new inventions.Conduct thorough literature and patent database searches to assess the patentability of inventions.Prepare detailed written evaluations regarding the feasibility of obtaining patent protection.Draft comprehensive patent applications with precision.Formulate and submit responses to inquiries from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Develop compelling arguments for patentability to present to Patent Office Examiners.Conduct patent reviews as part of the intellectual property due diligence process for potential mergers or acquisitions.RequirementsA degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field.1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to collaborate and function effectively within team environments.Demonstrated sound judgment, maturity, and a curious approach to challenges.Interpersonal skills necessary for effective interaction with business leaders, attorneys, scientists, engineers, inventors, and patent examiners.A solid work ethic combined with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.EducationDegree in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline.CertificationsNo specific certifications are required, although relevant qualifications in patent law may be advantageous.SkillsStrong analytical and critical thinking abilities.Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.Proficient in conducting research and synthesizing complex information.Ability to convey intricate technical concepts to diverse audiences.BenefitsA comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and retirement plans, among other offerings.
