Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan is seeking a dynamic leader to join our team . The Director of Residential Services is responsible for the coordination, planning, and management of day-to-day operations and client care services at our Rose and Glenn Arbor hospice residences . This position works primarily Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, and is included in a weekend and holiday Administrator On-Call rotation. Primary responsibilities include: Assisting clinical staff as needed in establishing immediate and long-term therapeutic goals, setting priorities, and developing a Plan of Care. Reviewing the client's medical diagnosis, prognosis, medications, procedures, and clinical course to ensure quality care is provided. Supervising, coordinating, and ensuring nursing and hospice aide services are provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including hiring and onboarding new staff. Reviewing and evaluating clinical services through a variety of means such as observation visits, conferences, and record reviews. Leading or designating leadership of the Interdisciplinary Group Meetings to facilitate coordination of care and team involvement. Evaluating the Hospice Residences' performance to ensure the quality and safe delivery of care, treatment, and services. Ensuring that coordination of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and wound care are provided according to client need and contractual agreement. Participating in public relations and community activities that promote the organization's role as an effective member of the Hospice and health care delivery system. Assisting the Chief Nursing Officer with identifying, gathering, and interpreting data and other operational and quality indicators for decision-making purposes. Developing ongoing positive and professional relationships with contractors, providers, and other related entities. Monitoring and ensuring adherence to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan's standards for provision of care. Ensuring that documentation and medical records comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Providing and maintaining a safe environment of care for personnel, volunteers, visitors, and the client/family/caregiver. Providing families and others in the community with appropriate information to make informed decisions regarding Hospice care and services at the residences. Coaching, mentoring, and developing staff and holding them accountable to meet agency/supervisor expectations. Taking responsibility for mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery activities as outlined in the organization's Emergency Management Plan. Providing strong, visible leadership and direction through compelling communication of the agency vision, values, key strategic initiatives, and job expectations. Ensuring that the organization is customer-oriented and a community asset committed to excellence with the broadest possible service to its clients. Requirements for this position include: Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan Bachelor's Degree in business administration, nursing, or other healthcare-related field; master’s degree preferred Maintains current BLS certification A minimum of 2 years' experience as an RN in an acute or Home Health Care setting Three to five years of progressive leadership experience in non-profit or healthcare management Experience with palliative and quality end of life care Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, building consensus, and leading people and projects forward Excellent communication skills with the ability to bring out the best in others Demonstrated ability to set and complete strategic goals Remains up to date on all immunizations required by LARA and agency policy Presents a negative 2-Step TB skin test and/or chest X-Ray Has the availability of a reliable, licensed, and insured vehicle for use on the job Benefits include: Competitive pay Generous PTO allowance BCBS PPO Medical Dental Vision 403(b) retirement plan with company match Employee Assistance Program Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan is a trusted community partner and a respected non-profit, free-standing, state licensed organization serving the Kalamazoo and surrounding counties since 1981.
