The Rectory School in Pomfret, CT seeks an experienced, energetic, personable professional to lead our enrollment efforts. The Director of Enrollment is responsible for all areas of the admissions process including developing enrollment projections, reviewing admissions applications, meeting with prospective families, building and maintaining relationships with educational consultants, engaging in national and international student recruitment trips, coordinating open houses and school tours, attending school fairs, and planning other events supporting the School's recruitment and retention efforts. The Director of Enrollment reports to the Headmaster and is a member of the senior administrative team.Responsibilities include the following: Admissions To oversee the program of admissions of new students to the school. To present the school to prospective students and parents, which includes systematic and efficient handling of applications and communication with candidates and their parents; interviews with candidates and their parents; arrangements for admissions testing; securing of necessary student credentials; and communicating final decisions to the appropriate individuals. To oversee the admission office, creation of the admissions budget, and appropriate admissions and marketing materials, mailings and publications. To organize and administer with the Financial Aid Committee the program for scholarships and financial aid. Marketing To evaluate continually, and redesign where appropriate, the marketing program with the goal of maintaining a capacity enrollment of qualified students and a wait-list of qualified applicants. Retention To manage the retention and re-enrollment of current students for the succeeding year. To supervise the coordination of all re-enrollment activity with constant monitoring of attrition and retention. To develop services and participate in presentations designed to increase student retention. To work with members of the administration and faculty to organize specific retention efforts at the key grade levels. Administrative To serve on select committees of the School and/or the Board of Trustees. To keep relevant statistics on all aspects of the admission and re-enrollment program and to prepare reports for the Headmaster and Board of Trustees as needed. To develop and maintain relationships with other area schools, school placement professionals, and other referral sources. To represent the school at various gatherings and conferences. To assist with the Administrator on Duty position. To assist with the residential life program. To perform other duties as assigned by the Headmaster. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in an appropriate field is required; a master's degree is preferred. At least 5 years experience in admissions work. An ability to lead a collaborative, efficient, collegial work team. A passion for independent education delivered in a boarding school setting as well as the professionalism, energy, and commitment necessary to achieve the responsibilities of this position. Familiarity with technology and social media. Excellent interpersonal skills.
