Remote - Candidate must be located on the West Coast, California preferred What You’ll Do As the Director of Engagement, you will play an integral role in expanding Instruction Partners’ work to new systems (districts and charters) with a focus on small systems in California with the possibility this focus could expand to include other states on the West Coast. The Director of Engagement is an instructional problem solver that is eager to help more leaders have the support they need to solve their most pressing instructional challenges. The person in this role is responsible for partner development which includes, building connections across and knowledge of the local context, identifying new potential partners, developing authentic relationships grounded in focus on instruction, and securing a target number of new partners and new partner revenue. The Director will also be responsible for account management for new and existing relationships. This role is part of a dynamic team that works with our Executive, Marketing, Finance, Development, Data, and Partnership and Program teams. We are seeking someone who is excited about helping leaders better understand their instructional needs and find solutions - with a particular heart for small systems - and someone who loves building and maintaining strong relationships. Responsibilities: Establish deep and trusting relationships grounded in solving instructional challenges with senior school, system, nonprofit, and funding leaders to better understand their needs and communicate how Instruction Partners can help them. Establish and maintain a deep understanding of the context of instructional support, funding initiatives, education and state policy in California (with the possibility of other states adding to the portfolio over time). Maintain relationships with determination through regular contact and presence. Establish a deep understanding of the Instruction Partners services and learning initiatives, the patterns of challenges we see schools grapple with and the ways to diagnose leader challenges and help leadership teams organize to solve these challenges. Help develop and execute recruitment strategy to expand Instruction Partners’ network in California and on the West Coast. Manage inbound leads and build relationships with potential new partners. Generate connections to new schools systems and opportunities through the Instruction Partners network and connector relationships. Manage accounts in Salesforce. Once it is clear that a school system has a challenge we can help them address, pull in the teams that would be working with them to help set up a clear scope of services aligned to their core challenges. Collaborate with marketing on a regional strategy to generate new leads (i.e. virtual and in-person events, conference presence, region-specific tools, and email campaigns, etc). Collaborate with delivery team members to develop and maintain an understanding of the approach and history including current and former partners. Required Candidate Qualifications: 8 + years of relevant experience preferred Experience solving instructional challenges and/or helping others solve complex instructional challenges Deep commitment to Instruction Partners’ Mission and Vision. Experience growing and maintaining a large network in the education realm, California experience preferred. Experience in K-12 consulting/consulting sales preferred Demonstrated experience establishing trusting relationships grounded in a shared commitment to instructional excellence with and engaging a diverse group of stakeholders (internal teams, external connectors, leaders of small systems, etc) Working knowledge of school systems, CDE, CCEE, and County Offices; familiarity with system and state leaders and their needs Exceptional written and oral communication, and presentation skills Detail oriented, highly organized, excellent communicator with great follow through Flexibility to travel regularly Comfort with working remotely Ability to work independently and collaboratively Proficiency using Salesforce preferred Other Considerations: Ability to travel to school systems located throughout California and sometimes, nationally, on a regular basis.
