Job Details Job details : Digital Forensic Investigator x 2 : HC614121 Location : Portsmouth University Salary : Scale SO2 : GBP 36, : GBP 39, Hours : 37 per week (flexitime) Contract : Permanent Closing date : Tuesday23rd January at 23:59 After 3 years service, a DFI will receive an extra GBP 1500 a year After 5 years service, a DFI will receive an extra GBP 3000 a year PEU Investigators only Work within a duty rota system by working weekends (currently 1 in 11) Roles: There are multiple roles available in both the Phone Examination Unit (PEU) and the High Tech Crime Unit (HTCU) Overview As a Digital Forensic Investigator you will be involved in the most challenging and interesting cases of digital forensics work and will be directly involved in the investigation of serious crime supporting various investigation teams across Hampshire and the IOW. You will undertake forensic examinations of electronic devices in accordance with the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) guidelines and our ISO 17025 accreditation in line with the Forensic Regulators Code of Practice. This is a challenging role, which requires good technical knowledge and the ability to present complex evidence and findings at court. All successful candidates will be given a bespoke training program including a dedicated mentor, internally led core competency training and external specialist training courses. All applicants must be aware that they will have to work with child abuse material on a frequent basis, both internal processes and external backssments will support your wellbeing in this area. Job Purpose The successful candidate will examine and retrieve evidence and intelligence from digital devices and related media. Key accountabilities include but are not limited to: 1. To carry out forensic examinations of digital devices and media. Where applicable, secure and retrieve relevant data from those devices, in accordance with national and local guidelines.
