POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Supervisor of Food & Nutrition or designate, the Dietary Aide will beresponsible for assisting in food preparation and food service programs while ensuringall work areas are cleaned and sanitized according to established safety practices at the Glen Star Dun Lodge. QUALIFICATIONS: Certificate of Completion in Health Care Food Service Worker Program approved by the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities and recognized by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care or equivalent. OR Food Service Workers with institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality food service experience (in place of the identified educational/training requirements) that the licensee is satisfied will allow them to perform the duties required of the position. If you are hired under this provision you must enroll and graduate from a Food Service Worker program approved by the Ministry of colleges and Universities that is recognized by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care within 18 months of hire. The cost of obtaining the program is the responsibility of the employee. The cost of the program is approximately $1700.00 to $2000.00. IN CONJUNCTION WITH: Successful completion of a Food Handler Training Program offered or approved by the Board of Health for the Public Health Unit and to be maintained in good standing. Graduate of a secondary school program. Experience with therapeutic and textured modified diets is an asset. Previous experience in an institutional kitchen an asset Excellent communication skills with residents, families, visitors, volunteers, students, and fellow staff Be able to lift 23 kg. (50.6lbs) Adhere to established departmental policies and procedures regarding quality assurance and infection control. Must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations.
