Work Schedule/Days: Day / Monday - Friday Employment Type: Full time Location: Marcus Autism Center Requisition #: 34071 POSITION SUMMARY Marcus Autism Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University School of Medicine, are conducting a search for an outstanding developmental pediatrician with specialization in the field of autism and related developmental disabilities to provide clinical care, research support and clinical training in Atlanta, Georgia. Marcus Autism Center is 1 of the largest and most comprehensive centers of clinical care for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders in the country, with over 5,000 unique children and families served every year in a wide spectrum of assessment and treatment programs. It is part of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, 1 of the largest systems of pediatric healthcare in the country. Marcus Autism Center is 1 of only 3 NIH Autism Centers of Excellence, with a research enterprise encompassing unique studies in genetics, behavioral neuroscience, social neuroscience, and clinical science, as well as a robust portfolio of community outreach programs and collaborative contracts with governmental agencies. The Center is a national leader in innovative clinical service delivery, clinical research, and professional training. Our Developmental Pediatrician will focus on providing clinical care, but will also have opportunities to support research and to provide supervision of allied clinicians and clinical training for students. As part of an interdisciplinary team this provider contributes to medical and developmental evaluations as well as follow-up care on an outpatient basis. This provider will also supervise medical support personnel and assume basic administrative oversight of this clinical area. The Center values excellence in patient-centered care and will be looking for a person who is successful in effectively communicating with patients, families and colleagues. EDUCATION Doctorate or equivalent CERTIFICATION SUMMARY Board certified or Board certified within 5 (5) years of the completion of residency or fellowship training Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Georgia Current DEA registration BLS / PALS certification is necessary experience* No min background required PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS* Background in respective clinical area in either neurodevelopmental or developmental-behavioral pediatrics and a history of commitment to serving children with autism and their families. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES* Demonstrated expertise to communicate effectively with patients and families and as a team player Demonstrates the following skills in accomplishing job duties and responsibilities: o Personal organization and time management o Human relations and teamwork o Personal adaptability o Personal motivation o Listening Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing as part of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Professional Staff JOB ASSIGNMENTS* Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations and Children’s policies and procedures. Participates in and incorporates Quality Improvement and research findings into practice. Provides and/or serves as a resource for patient/family and staff education. Provides an authenticated report of all physician services rendered and maintains accurate and complete records in an acceptable manner. Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication to facilitate patent care and appropriate reimbursement. Participates in meetings/activities as required to support operations of the clinical area. Participates in activities that enhance professional development, complete and maintain certification in BLS and PALS and maintains any additional specialty training/certifications as required by the area assigned. Performs other responsibilities as required. SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES* Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system. Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
