Position title: Desktop Support Location: Austin, TX Position type: Contract To Apply: Send resume with “Desktop Support” in the subject line to Description: A GTS client is seeking a Desktop Support Technician in Austin, TX. This is a Contract position with the client. This position provides documentation and hands-on resolution for basic to advanced technical problems that affect all levels of users within the state. Work includes, but is not limited to, problems with workstations involving PC hardware or software, networking, Active Directory, mobile devices (Apple) and other IT related issues. Job Functions:Diagnoses and troubleshoots basic-to-advanced hardware, software, network, or mobile device problems; escalates issues to specialized staff or technical team leads when necessary.Communicates at a complex level with others (internally or externally) to provide, exchange, or verify info, answer inquiries, address issues, or resolve problems or complaints.Responsible for ensuring that all requests for istance or service are handled in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the users/customers.Submits clear and concise documentation within the Agency’s problem tracking system (Remedy). Achieves desired metrics in accordance with department policies.Monitors network activities to identify and/or ist in resolution of continuing problems or unusual situations.Conducts appropriate training to customers and/or other IT support staff as required to enhance their individual computer skills.Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with Agency leave policies. Promotes and participates in a positive and culturally diverse work atmosphere.Participates in special projects, QC/Testing, and other duties as required. Requirements: 4 yrs’ background in the analysis and troubleshooting support of PC computer operating systems, hardware, software, wide-area-networks, and mobile devices (Apple). Necessary experience must be gained within last 2-4 yrs to ensure qualified personnel are up-to-date in current software and hardware platforms.Knowledge of Microsoft office suite (preferably Office 265), Active Directory, and MDMKnowledge, skill and expertise to analyze systems, procedures and processes, ess risks, and make recommendations to IT Support Teams and/or Team Lead or other management.Expertise to effectively communicate orally and in writing in the English language with all levels of staff; Present and explain technical info to a non-technical audience.Team member, able to work with limited direction, using initiative and sound judgment; expertise to modify response as needed due to emergencies or new priorities.CompTIA A certification strongly preferred Desired:Cabling and Break Fix a PLUSA certification HIGHLY PREFERRED About UsAt GTS Technology Solutions, we believe it’s about understanding your specific need and meeting it with exactly the right solution, service or staff at the right time, every time.
