Who We Need Sabel Systems is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Compliance Engineer to join our internal cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and maintaining cybersecurity compliance, with specific expertise in DIBCAC High audits, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) , and hands-on experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools as well as system administration. This position will support internal cyber projects, compliance initiatives, and ensure alignment with relevant DoD and NIST standards. What You'll Do Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. Serve as the individual responsible for overseeing the cybersecurity posture of internal systems and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Lead and manage the execution of DIBCAC High audits, ensuring systems meet the required standards for Department of Defense (DoD) contracts. Implement and maintain cybersecurity programs in compliance with CMMC requirements, including process improvement and system remediation. Manage, configure, and operate SIEM tools to monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents. Provide hands-on system administration support to ensure that security measures are properly implemented across all IT systems. Conduct continuous risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response activities in line with NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171 , and other DoD cybersecurity standards. Lead efforts to maintain and improve compliance with cybersecurity frameworks, such as ISO 27001 and other industry standards. Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and controls, ensuring they align with both regulatory requirements and organizational goals. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that systems and processes meet the necessary cybersecurity and compliance benchmarks. Stay up-to-date with emerging cybersecurity threats and evolving regulations to maintain a robust security posture. Provide training and guidance to IT and security personnel on cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements. Your Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 5 years of experience as an ISSM/ISSE or similar role, preferably in a DoD or defense contracting environment. Strong understanding of DIBCAC High audit requirements and processes. Hands-on experience with CMMC compliance , including implementation and assessment. Proficiency in using SIEM tools for monitoring, analysis, and response. Hands-on experience in system administration , with the ability to implement and manage security controls. Deep knowledge of NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171 , and ISO 27001 frameworks. Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies and standards. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Desired Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CMMC Assessor are highly desirable. Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) in a secure and compliant manner. Experience configuring and maintaining Microsoft Sentinel SIEM solutions. Strong understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and its application in the DoD environment.
