Eastern Connecticut State University, the state’s public liberal arts university serving approximately 5500 students, offers a wide range of undergraduate majors in the arts and sciences and professional studies, as well as selected graduate programs. Located in historic Windham County in the heart of eastern Connecticut, the University is midway between New York City and Boston and only a short drive from Hartford, the state capital. Eastern Connecticut State University is accepting applications for the position of Customer Support Center Assistant in the Information Technology Services department, and we invite applications from candidates who have strong interpersonal skills when providing technical support. Eastern is especially interested in applicants who can demonstrate their skillset troubleshooting technical issues, provide timely customer feedback, and support the roll-out of new applications to diverse populations and perspectives. Position Summary : Supports a Help Center for users of voice systems, PCs, Network, and various applications in the Information Technology Department of the Connecticut State University. Position Responsibilities: Assists with all Help Desk operations associated with the Information Technology department: Provides primary point of contact and first level of support for calls and requests received by the Help Desk. Responsibilities include trouble resolution, service request distribution and follow up, data entry, report generation, documentation of problems, utilization of Help Center software, and dispatching services when necessary. Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those enumerated above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position. Minimum Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related area and two years of professional experience in a help desk or customer service environment in a large organization. Experience with voice and/or PC applications. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Credentials and/or experience substantially comparable to the above may also be considered.
