NEEDED: Custodian LOCATION: COLUMBUS CIVIC CENTER 400 4th St, Columbus, GA 31901 HOURS: As Needed/ Event Driven, 7 days a week, Monday-Sunday, 12:00 AM – 12:00 PM DRESS CODE: Black or brown shoes and black pants REQUIREMENTS: Dependable Transportation Dependable and punctual attendance Major Duties and Responsibilities: Performs custodial duties, which includes cleaning rest rooms, kitchen areas, vacuums carpets, scrubs and waxes floors, and dusts, washes windows, and performs other miscellaneous custodial duties associated with maintaining clean buildings and facilities. Empties trash containers, sweeps parking lots, and exterior walkways. Maintains inventory of all tools and supplies required to perform the duties of the position. Wash dishes, pots, and pans. Move boxes, furniture, and other miscellaneous items from one place to another. Changes light bulbs. Carries out a continuous effort to improve operations, work processes; and works cooperatively and jointly to provide continuous improvement and customer-driven service. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment and compounds, and their proper uses. Educational and Training Requirements: High School Diploma or GED One (1) year of related experience or any combination of education, training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Physical Requirements: The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, or stooping. Frequently lifts light and heavy objects, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and must be able to distinguish between shades of color.
