Corporate Responsibility: Corporate Responsibility (CR) is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm's CR agenda by crafting goals, policies, and initiatives that align with and support the firm's business strategies, reflect our values, and support the communities where we do business. CR includes Global Philanthropy, Global Government Relations, Community Engagement, Sustainable Finance, and the JPMorgan Chase Institute. Critical responsibilities: State and Local Government Relations (SGR)) is seeking to fill the role of Associate located in its Los Angeles office. The position will be a key member of the SGR team, reporting to the Government Relations Regional Director for the West and Central regions. The perfect candidate will leverage her/his political or policy background, skills and knowledge of the financial services industry to effectively coordinate and communicate daily and long term objectives. S/he will be responsible for a variety of critical areas related to SGR operations, including assisting in the coordination of outreach opinion leaders, elected officials, issue experts, internal and external stakeholders and employees. S/he will manage a portfolio of areas and have responsibility for managing key external relationships and provide support to SGR initiatives. The Associate will also be responsible for the execution of internal- and external-facing projects, as assigned by the Regional Director: * Manage the timely preparation and delivery of briefing materials for meetings, coordinating with the Regional Director SGR to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness of materials. * Manage a portfolio of financial services industry issues, including pro-actively identifying and heading off potential problem areas in both state legislatures and local municipalities, tracking legislation, monitoring hearings and facilitating meetings on key topics of importance to the firm. * Assist in deploying a network of JPMC executives to represent the firm and engage with elected officials and community leaders. * Under direction of Regional Director, support engagement of external relationships, trade associations and other 3rd parties as assigned, as well as engagement of newly elected officials. Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree required with a min of 3 yrs relevant work background. Background in policy and/or government preferred * Demonstrated understanding of financial service and business issues * Demonstrated understanding of state and local political and legislative processes * Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills; sound judgment and strong collaborative decision-making skills * Outstanding verbal and written correspondence abilities and strong expertise to articulate concepts and strategies effectively * Strong management expertise and project managerial background * Excellent relationship-building skills * High attention to detail; follows through to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness * Positive self-starter with proactive approach, excellent time management and prioritization skills * Mastery of core Microsoft office suite applications, particularly Microsoft excel and PowerPoint * Flexibility to manage constantly changing priorities and timelines JPMorgan Chase & Co., 1 of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world's most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
