We Want You! NYP is looking for an experienced, trustworthy, focused, and self-motivated Controller to oversee our daily and monthly financial reporting and bookkeeping operations. The Controller will focus on managing accounts payable/receivable, streamlining cash flow, and supporting various financial functions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Director of Operations and the Founders, while also implementing new financial systems and ensuring compliance with legal and company guidelines. This is an opportunity for part-time (>20 hours/week), contract work. Remote location in the US, New York City preferred. The Role Strategic Financial Reporting: Provide weekly financial reports on spending, revenue, and cash flow, and support data-driven decision-making. Expense Review: Deliver weekly reports to stakeholders to review expenses, prioritize payments, and manage approvals. Cash Flow Management & Forecasting: Oversee cash flow, manage project-based P&L cleanups, and collaborate with payroll to build labor forecasting models. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Develop financial forecasts and identify cost-saving opportunities. Software & Tools: Utilize QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and other financial tools to streamline processes and maintain accuracy. Financial Closings & Audits: Support monthly and yearly financial closings, and ensure compliance for external audits. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. MBA, a plus. 7+ years of accounting and finance experience Demonstrated experience and proficiency in QuickBooks Online, bill.com, and a track record of implementing new financial systems. Strong understanding of financial regulations (GAAP/IFRS) and reporting standards. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders. Bonus Points!
