Continuous Improvement Engineer
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in a related position is required. five to seven years of experience with at least three years of continuous improvement experience including facilitation skills to lead groups or teams. Solid working understanding of Ms office (Ms excel, Power Point, Microsoft word, Project, and VISO) DUTIES: Work under the general direction of the Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer to achieve goals by providing support to office and shop process owners through facilitation of continuous improvement activities using lean principals and quality tools. Primary assignments include planning and conducting Lean/CI events, documentation of Continuous Improvement activities (activities include: events, suggestions program, 5S, CI Metrics, etc.) and provide mentoring and training as required to support Continuous Improvement Culture. Specific duties and assignments include, but are not limited to: Create and present monthly at Controls Meeting, Create and present at Leadership Staff meeting as requested, Facilitate monthly Cell CI Health reviews and Conduct annual Cell CI Culture Assessments. Create and Conduct Continuous Improvement surveys to better improve process. Participate on the KAG Continuous Improvement Council. Establish and maintain good communication with functional groups, management, teammates, industry peers, and external customers to fulfill qualifications as well as facilitate problem identification and resolution. Interact effectively with all levels of the organization, identify problem areas/issues and recommend and or take corrective action as required. Work in collaboration with employees in shop and administrative functional areas to coordinate, facilitate, and conduct lean events at divisions as requested. Interfaces with all levels of management to plan and execute events and CI Activity. Perform assessments on applicant processes to include definition of boundaries and team composition and help to identify improvement opportunities. Plans for lean workshop events by coaching, and / or assisting staff and notifies teammates and conducts kickoff meeting. Facilitate the team’s preparation of final report-out and coach teammates with presenting details to management. Participate in scheduled and informal Continuous Improvement activities. Assist in creating new or editing existing training materials from basic to advanced lean tools and quality tools. As well as conducting the classes. Classes will include subject matter related to Lean/CI Methodology (examples: 5S, 8 Wastes, Process Mapping, Visual Factory, Mistake Proofing, Root Cause Corrective Action, SMED, TAKT, Time Observations, Operator Sequencing, Spaghetti Diagrams, Floor Layout, Kaizen, Standard Work).
