This position is designed for an attorney with a minimum of four years of experience in regulatory matters, particularly in consumer finance. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in regulations related to payments, credit products, and laws governing unfair, deceptive, or abusive practices.DutiesAdvise clients on compliance with consumer financial regulations at both state and federal levels.Draft and review legal documents about consumer financial products and services.Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on emerging financial technologies, including FinTech, cryptocurrency, and digital assets.Engage with clients to ensure their understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices.Collaborate with colleagues to develop effective compliance strategies and solutions.Participate in discussions regarding regulatory developments that affect clients in the financial sector.RequirementsMinimum of four years of experience in consumer financial regulatory matters.Strong understanding of financial regulations, particularly those affecting payments and credit products.Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a focus on client service.Experience with emerging platforms, mortgage lenders/services, and cryptocurrency is a plus.Membership in a local bar association in good standing is required; prior law firm experience is not mandatory.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.CertificationsLicensed to practice law in New York and in good standing.SkillsExceptional legal research and analytical skills.Strong ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.Location New York City, NYBenefitsComprehensive health insurance, including dental and vision coverage.401(k) retirement plan with company matching.Paid vacation and sick leave.Employee assistance programs and wellness initiatives.Opportunities for professional development and mentorship.A diverse and inclusive work environment that supports career advancement for all individuals.
