Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal, Full-Time, 40-50 hours/week, Morning, Day, Weekend, Overtime Vacancies: 6 Anticipated start date: Spring 2023 (Actual start date is weather-dependent) Job requirements: Language: English Education: Not required Experience: 3 years of related experience Area of Specialization: Construction (ground leveling/forming, finishing/ decorative finishings/concrete slabs/ basements/stairs/footings/curbs/patios and sidewalks) Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Dusty, Noisy, Weather elements Work setting: Rural, Urban, Commercial, Residential, Sidewalks and Curbs Type of materials: Colours and sealers, Lightweight concrete, Reinforcing membrane and Protective covering, hardeners and epoxies, Mastic flooring Work Condition: Fast-paced environment, Overtime when operations require Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Physically demanding, Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 80-100 lbs, Bending, crouching kneeling, standing for extended periods Personal Suitability: Flexibility, Accuracy, Safety-orientated Own tools/equipment: CSA approved Steel-toed safety boots, Hard Hat, Gloves Duties: • Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade • Fill hollows and remove high spots to smooth freshly poured concrete • Operate power vibrator to compact concrete • Level top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications using straightedge or float • Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete • Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete• Waterproof, damp-proof and restore concrete surfaces • Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of floors, curb and gutters and other concrete structures• Operate various equipment and machinery• Pour and spread materials• Tamp concrete using electric.
