Community Organizer, Bilingual
Position details: The community organizer recruits new girl and adult members by partnering with schools, faith-based and grassroots organizations, and community influencers. S/he reports to a regional membership manager. Duties and Responsibilities: Implements a plan to recruit new girl and adult members in targeted areas by using data, understanding the community, and building relationships with community volunteers and families Generates leads to reach membership goals that reflect the diversity of the area served Achieves personal, team and council goals at strategic points in an 18-month membership cycle Partners with local volunteers and families to extend awareness of Girl Scouting and provide access to membership Fully engages as a member of a regional membership team Attends local community activities to ensure Girl Scouting is visible, viable, and accessible Performs other duties as required or assigned Supports policies and procedures of the GSGCNWI Models behavior consistent with the Mission and purpose of Girl Scouting Accountabilities in Role: Leadership – Models professional behavior that supports council initiatives, policies and plans Oral and written correspondence – Listens with compassion and provides outstanding communication in person, on the phone and through email with diverse groups of people Customer Service – Goes above and beyond to ensure current and prospective members and their families feel supported in the process of registering and renewing their memberships Judgment, decision-making and problem-solving – Recognizes when sufficient info has been obtained to solve problems and make decisions consistent with mission and processes Team-builder – Collaborates proactively and positively with staff and volunteers to create an environment of transparency, info-sharing and accessibility Data Quality – Strives to attain high levels of data integrity, while understanding the relationship of membership data and reports to reaching annual membership goals Background, Skills and Requirements: Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent relevant background; multi-lingual skills in Spanish required Min 1-three years' background in membership or sales Highly organized, expertise to multitask, handle pressure, and meet deadlines Good written and oral communications skills Basic proficiency or aptitude for inputting info in customer database system Expertise to work unaided and communicate through technology as well as in person Expertise to work flexible scheduling including some required evenings and weekends Background and sensitivity in working with diverse people and volunteers Reliable vehicle and current insurance to travel as needed within the council jurisdiction Compensation for this position is $35,000-$38,000, plus a solid benefits package.
