Position Summary: Completes thorough registration to allow for proper billing for medical services. Also communicates effectively through phone and face to face contact with patients and visitors of the medical facility. Description: Supplemental/ One day per week (Varies): Answers phone in a prompt, courteous, professional manner. Presents oneself in a professional manner, knowing the receptionist is the first impression of the organization. Focuses on quality customer service. Recognizes criteria for ambulatory visits and accepts appropriate patients and schedules accordingly. Demonstrates flexibility to priorities as patient's needs change. Able to assess needs per phone conversation with appropriate referral and/or appointment scheduled. Works with the patients to insure the patient information sheet is complete and that necessary authorization signatures are obtained. Maintains demographic and insurance information for new patients and/or patients with updated information. Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed, although not directly assigned. Performs money management duties including co-pay collections, petty cash and deposit process. Coordinates with Patient Financial Services. Checks patients out after appointment Schedule follow-up appointments. Tallies the patient route ticket and collection of patient day amounts. Makes sure all diagnosis is legible on the route ticket. Opens, closes and maintains the satellite clinic office in accordance with office policy. Makes appropriate preparations for the next days schedule. Routes mail, faxes and dictation to the appropriate provider and/or staff member. Responsible for mailing letters/packages and picking up mail. Powered by JazzHR
