Position Overview :The Claims Business Reporting Analyst will work closely with the Claims management and leadership team to identify and pursue opportunities for evaluating business processes and determine areas for improvements. The Claims Business Reporting analyst will create data-driven ideas to improve our performance. The successful candidate will work with department staff by performing side-by-sides, monitoring department activities, evaluating systems, analyzing processes, data bases and recommend how best to support and implement change. The candidate should develop and maintain industry reporting knowledge about Warranty product, apply technical skills and abilities, implement strategies, and present complex information to various business leaders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Communicate and execute on initiatives in partnership with Claims Leadership. Drive critical business decisions by analyzing metrics and designing reports Creating and updating data sets that evolve in our business needs Ability to create, update, and share databases. Strong troubleshooting and report writing abilities. Knowledge of suitable data analytic processes. Proactively identify process improvements. Maintain good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders. Proactively keep Claims management and leadership aware of on-going projects. Make recommendations to bring about efficiency and change. Develop and implement procedural change. Learn and evaluate complex systems. Learn, understand, and report on complex data. Perform additional duties and work on projects as assigned. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Strong working PC knowledge - Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Power Point, Visio and SQL Analytical Problem Solving - Able to apply systems thinking to generate solutions, focus on process rather than isolated events to identify root cause, and evaluate alternative solutions. Initiative - Able to prepare for problems and/or opportunities in advance and take action without supervision. Influence & Persuasion - Able to use tact when expressing ideas or opinions, present new ideas to management, and respond to objectives successfully. Leadership & Management Skills - Ability to exhibit a "can-do" attitude approach and inspire associates to excel. Develop and manage performance. Metric Monitoring - Ability to develop, monitor and react to Key Performance Indicators and other business metrics. Flexibility: Able to perform in a fast-paced environment and perform a wide variety of tasks and change focus quickly as internal and external demands change. Beneficial Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Understanding of Warranty or Insurance products is recommended but not required. Prior involvement with vendor relationships is helpful. Prior claims processing/approval process is helpful. Basic accounting knowledge is helpful. Strong communication skills required. Intermediate to advanced understanding of data gathering and manipulation is preferred. Education/Experience Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Finance, or other related fields is required. Equivalent work experience will be considered (four years).
