Child & Teen Mental Health Therapist – Batavia and Naperville About Us Creating Space Therapy is a trauma-informed, client-centered practice committed to helping clients of all ages navigate grief, trauma, and emotional challenges. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Child & Teen Mental Health Therapist (LSW/LPC or LCSW/LCPC) with advanced training in trauma modalities, such as EMDR, play therapy, CBT, somatic therapy, or polyvagal theory, to join our team. This position is available in both Batavia and Naperville, with options for full-time (24 completed sessions per week) or part-time (15 completed sessions per week). Why Join Us? Key Responsibilities Conduct individual therapy for children and teens, utilizing age-appropriate, evidence-based approaches including EMDR, play therapy, CBT, somatic therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with each client’s unique needs and therapeutic goals. Communicate and coordinate with families, schools, and other relevant support systems to enhance client outcomes. Complete required documentation, including intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, and termination notes, in a timely and organized manner. Attend mandatory staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing training as directed by Creating Space Therapy. Qualifications Master’s or Doctoral Degree in counseling or social work. Licensed in Illinois (LSW/LPC or LCSW/LCPC). Specialized training or experience in trauma and grief therapy for children and teens is preferred. Knowledge of and experience with EMDR, play therapy, CBT, somatic therapy, or polyvagal theory is highly valued. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Passion for working collaboratively within a team and a commitment to Creating Space Therapy’s mission, vision, and values. This Position May Not Be Right For You If: You’re seeking a position to simply “clock in and out” without long-term investment in the practice. You’re not passionate about our mission, vision, and values or prefer not to work collaboratively. You are not interested in completing 24 sessions/week. You intend to open your own practice in the near future, as we seek team members committed to growing within Creating Space Therapy. Pay & Benefits Hourly rates: $50-$60 for full-time, $46-$56 for part-time. PTO: 1 hour earned per every 40 hours worked. $500 annual CEU stipend $200 monthly health care reimbursement, Paid orientation Paid clinical supervision Compensation for late cancellations or no-shows.
