Certified Head Teacher
The Head Teacher is responsible for the coordination and the supervision of the daily operations of their assigned classroom(s) or work location(s). He/she participates in the design and implementation of educational and clinical programs of assigned clients. Assignments include, but are not limited to, the participation in the ISP/IEP development and monitoring; supervision and evaluation of the assigned staff; and oversight of the operational systems within the site(s). WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: The Head Teacher reports to the Educational Director or the Director of Student Day Services. He/she works in conjunction with their assigned teaching staff to insure that there is consistent implementation of educational and clinical programs for their assigned clients. He/she assures the quality of services while maintaining positive and consistent working relationships with all staff and works as a constructive and active team player in all duties. Qualifications: 1. DESE Licensure. If not currently licensed, must meet the requirement to maintain eligibility for subsequent waiver(s) until appropriately licensed. 2. Excellent people skills. 3. Communication expertise must include accuracy, clarity, and consistency. 4. Maturity, good judgement and expertise to handle confidential details. Proven expertise to manage multiple priorities. 5. Must be proficient or become proficient in 1st Aid and CPR. 6. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. SKILLS: 1. Proficiency in Work, Microsoft excel and willingness to learn other programs as needed. 2 Expertise to multi-task in a high energy environment. 3. Expertise to manage projects effectively and efficiently.
