CELL AUDIT INSPECTOR Department: Metal Finish Reports To: Production Supervisor or Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Updated: 06/2016 SUMMARY The Cell Audit Inspector verifies product conformance immediately within the cell prior to shipment ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Assignments include the following: Performs visual and dimensional inspections of parts within cell Verifies documents for regulatory compliance Works with cell members on questionable non-conforming product verification to have questionable Non-Conforming product verified Documents inspection results Identifies product-needing re-work and provides feedback to cell members on rework and scrap Verifies re-worked product conforms to specifications Completes quality documents daily, such as routers and tags Checks microstructure of parts Additional duties as requested by management May require travel SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be professional, proactive and positive, with internal and external customers and coworkers. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or expertise required. Education and/or Background High-school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3 to 6 mons related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and background. Language Skills Expertise to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Expertise to write routine reports and correspondence. Expertise to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Expertise to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Expertise to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Expertise Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Expertise to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Expertise to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Computer skills Knowledge of blueprint reading, and geometric tolerancing. Use and knowledge of inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, CMM, height gages, and comparators. Knowledge of metallurgical concepts and practices. General knowledge customer specifications and standards, and certifications. General knowledge of ISO 9000 standards. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near, distance, sharpness vision and color and depth perception. This vision exam will be conducted annually. WORKING ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the workplace environment is usually moderate to loud. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong people skills. Strong verbal and written skills. Proven management skills.
