Description:

Scope of Position: Constructs custom displays, kiosks, and exhibit components for tradeshow, branded environments and museum exhibits. May also perform refurbishments of existing property. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Reads and interprets all blue prints pertaining to the manufacturing and maintaining of museum and tradeshow exhibits. Sets-up and operates a variety of woodworking machines and uses various hand tools to fabricate and repair museum and tradeshow exhibitry. Must be able to operate equipment such as saws, planes, drill presses, hand tools, etc. with little or no supervision according to all safety standards established by Exhibit Concepts. Applies general knowledge concerning plastic lamination, solid surface materials, wood joinery, and exotic materials. Applies basic construction methods for assembling common panels and framing members in museum and tradeshow exhibits. Read and follow Safety Data Sheets for all products that are new to you. Read and follow all manufacture recommendations. Use Train the Trainer mentality to other team members. Operates in a safe and knowledgeable manner all types of air tools, staple guns and spray equipment. Able to work with a team to meet aggressive production schedules. May be required to travel for installation of exhibitory. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: One-year certificate from college or technical school; and seven (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. General Skills: Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows7 or greater, and familiarity with Microsoft Office 2010 including Word, Excel, & Outlook. Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal. Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Forklift driving a requirement (ECI certification). Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
