Caregiver/Direct Support Professional - Hiring Immediately for staff in San Fernando Valley area! Full-time positions - Pay is $16.56 per hour plus benefits and tons of extra perks like "On-Demand" Pay REM California has positions available in our local, long-term group homes where we serve adults with developmental disabilities as well as behavioral supports needed. As a Caregiver you will support people with activities of daily living such as: Transporting to medical appointments, errands, shopping or activities in your community Providing guidance with social skills, advocacy, self esteem Teaching strategies to live as independently as possible Personal hygiene, bathing, toileting, grooming, preparing meals, and assisting with medication administration Assisting individuals to redirect challenging behaviors Schedule options depend on program however we can typically work with your availability and offer options such as: Full-time & part-time available now (most positions are currently full-time) Early mornings, evenings, overnights - weekdays and weekends As a successful Caregiver you will: Celebrate and encourage growth and independence in the life of every individual you serve. Lead by example to encourage and support your co-workers and the individuals you serve. Approach concerns with an open mind and assume positive intent. Take initiative to identify problems before they become crises. Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent At least 1 year experience providing direct support/caregiver role with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities AND some experience working with behavioral needs; Also consider ABA technicians, Behavioral Therapists, Behavioral Interventionist, Registered Behavioral Technicians (RBT), etc. Valid CA driver’s license in good standing Candidates with DSP 1 or DSP 2 certifications HILGHLY DESIRED - if you don't have these we can help you get these before employment Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks Compassionate approach with a reliable, responsible attitude What we offer you: Flexible schedules - full time, some part time available as well "On-Demand" Pay - get paid for the days you work without waiting for payday !
